Privacy Policy

1. Overview

CardHatch helps you organize a personal trading-card collection, track sets, record purchase prices and estimated values, and create backups of your collection data.

This policy explains what information CardHatch handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

2. Information you enter into the app

You may enter collection information such as card names, game or category, set names, card numbers, rarity, condition, quantity, purchase dates, purchase prices, estimated values, and notes.

This information is used to display and manage your collection, calculate collection summaries, and support backup and restore features.

3. Where your information is stored

All collection information is stored locally on your device in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.

Your data may be lost if you clear the app's data, uninstall the app, or lose your device. We strongly recommend exporting regular backups.

When you export a backup, a JSON file is downloaded to your device. You choose where to save it and who can access it. Importing a backup will replace your current collection data — the app shows you exactly what will be replaced and asks for confirmation before proceeding.

CardHatch does not use cloud storage, user accounts, or remote servers.

4. Collection values and estimates

Purchase prices and estimated card values are entered by you for personal tracking. CardHatch does not provide live market pricing. An estimated value does not guarantee a card can be sold for that amount.

5. Sharing and third-party services

CardHatch does not transmit your collection data to us or to any third party. The app contains:

• No analytics
• No advertising
• No tracking SDKs
• No account system
• No data-transmitting third-party libraries

The only network requests the app makes are to load its own files (HTML, manifest, service worker, icons) from the server hosting the app. Your collection data is never included in these requests.

Hosting: The app is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When your device loads the app, Cloudflare processes standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and requested pages as part of delivering the website. This is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy. CardHatch itself does not receive or store this information.

Backup files you deliberately export or share may be accessible to whoever receives them.

6. Retention and deletion

Your collection data stays on your device until you delete it. You can:

• Delete individual cards or checklist entries within the app
• Clear the app's stored data through your browser/device settings (this removes everything)
• Delete exported backup files from wherever you saved them

There is no remote copy to request deletion of — we don't have your data.

7. Security

Your data is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption, etc.). The app validates all imported backup files before accepting them — malformed or invalid files are rejected without touching your existing data. All displayed content is sanitized to prevent script injection.

No method of electronic storage is completely secure. Keep your device secure and store backup files somewhere you trust.

8. Children's privacy

CardHatch is a general-audience collection-management utility. It is not directed at children under 13, though it contains no age-inappropriate content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because the app does not transmit any data off-device.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the app's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top will be updated when a revised version is published.
